Finally….. RO-JAWS has arrived!

1/6 scale. Classis colour scheme.

I tried to design him up as a cross between Mick McMahon and Kevin O’Neill’s classic design!

I wanted him to look like he did in the comic when I was a kid. He’s a foulmouthed street cleaner/service robot… He even comes with a turd you can keep in his ‘stomach’ compartment!

A thing of beauty. The jobbie is a fun touch.

Ashley Wood’s 3A x 2000AD’s ABC Warriors… Ro-Jaws comes to life!

spankystokes:

Fans of the British comic magazine 2000AD will surely recognize Pat Mills’s ABC Warriors and the robot Ro-Jaws from it. For those that don’t know, here’s a brief description: The A.B.C. Warriors are a team of war robots designed to withstand Atomic, Biological and Chemical warface and — for the most part — they are free-will wielding droids who find themselves at odds with their human masters. Ro-Jaws, the comic relief robot of the group, has a working-class mentality and spends a lot of his time in the sewer (both literally and figuratively).

So what does this have to do with designer toys? Well, Ashley Wood’s 3A has acquired the license to release the ABC Warriors as limited edition figures… which makes sense, as these creations are right up Wood’s alley! Ro-Jaws will be the first in the line and, at 1/6th scale, he’ll stand a little over 7.5”-tall. The designs arms are articulated and his front panel opens to hide the included 1/6th scale turd in. We’re told that the tires will even have a “squishy” feel to them!

Ro-Jaws is set to be released on March 22nd at the Bambaland Online Store, with a retail price of $110. Members of the 3AA fanclub will access to an exclusive Blackhole variant edition, which I’m guessing is based on “The Black Hole” storyline from the comic series. And fans… we’re told that Hammerstein is next on the creation list!

So, this is Ro-Jaws from ThreeA toys. And I do mean this IS Ro-Jaws, it’s about as perfect a figure as you could get.

Yes indeed, he looks amazing and we haven’t yet seen the paint job, which is top quality.

Commando “Cellar of Dredd” Forces’ advent calendar video, animating the Three A Mongrol and Tharg action figures. Also contains swearing.

RO-JAWS!
This is an upcoming toy from 3A that I got to do the design work on!
Ro Jaws is one of the classic 2000AD characters, and is being released in conjunction with the ABC Warriors toys.
It’s based on Kevin O’Neill and Mick McMahon’s classic designs. This is definitely one of the coolest jobs I’ve had… designing robots!!!
I am a lucky boy.

So, it’s been confirmed who the next ABC Warrior is.  I’ll probably get him, Ro-Jaws, despite him not being from the best ABC Warrior line-up.

Oh wow, that looks amazing!
Is there a source for this?
Update: It is from 3a’s newsletter - thanks to bughatdino for answering my wuery so swiftly.

Here’s the first part of an interview I did with TALK COMICS recently…

Rufus talks about working with 3A on their line of 2000 AD figures (as well as Tank Girl and his own creator-owned series). He is the best droid for the job as his deep knowledge of 2000AD’s art is couple with an old school style, a combination that is difficult to match.

3A’s newsletter includes some more photos of the Mongrol figure, and yes, even the box is stunning. Presumably, this means they are getting ready to ship, something to look forward to if you ordered one, time to shed a few tears if you didn’t.
